Sue Wells

I live locally and although by profession I am a scientist my interest and experience of craft started at school where my art teacher was a potter.

I started making jewelry when my daughters necklaces were all stolen and I made her one using antique glass beads that I had collected. Subsequently I have learnt different techniques including knotting pearls, which my mother had always done.

I am inspired by the colours and textures of semi precious stones
and find spacing them on silver wire displays best their individual variety and beauty. I also love the colours in natural materials such as Pau and Black Lip mussel shells and the wide variety of coloured pearls which are now available.
