Helen Clifford finds inspiration in the patterns, textures and colours of the natural world. The aim of her work is to share her delight in the beauty to be found in the small details all around us – in trees, plants, flowers and roots, rock, stone and water. She also enjoys working on animal subjects, trying to convey their individual personalities and quirks.
Coloured pencil is Helen’s favourite medium. It allows her to capture the subject directly onto paper with directness and simplicity, enabling her to concentrate on the image rather than the technique. Helen Clifford is a member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society.
Helen Clifford has exhibited at the Titchfield Art and Craft Show for many years and it is one of her favourite events. For many years she has shown and sold her work at the annual MIWAS wildlife art exhibition, and now exhibits with Southern Nature. In 2015 Helen was thrilled to have two graphite drawings accepted for the Society of Graphic Fine Art DRAW 15 exhibition at the Menier Gallery in London.
